Education & Career Program

Kinder Spass offers Internship, Co-op and Career programs at our Hamburg Germany location. It is unique in that you have the flexibility to enter and remain in the program as an Intern, Co-op or take advantage of Career opportunities in a number of available positions.

Depending on the time of year, responsibilities may include humanities (Human Rights), health coordinator, social worker, clerical assistant, legal assistant, nurse-midwife program administration, activities programmer, various types of instructor positions or other areas that might be available at that time.

The positions available are endless. No matter which program you chose, you will gain valuable experience and insight and join a fun, quality team dedicated to making a significant difference for the World and our youth.

The Career Program offers direct job placement in to your career. Minimum commitment is 2 years and up to 40 hours per week.

The basic qualifications include specific skills related to the chosen field, enthusiasm for people & learning and a strong belief in our mission.

Internship experience with Kinder Spass

Kinder Spass Internships offer candidates a period of practical experience within our organization. This experience is valuable to candidates as a means of allowing you to experience how your abilities are applied in the "real world".

Remember that unlike conventional employment, internships have an emphasis on training, rather than employment itself and is an unpaid position. Minimum commitment is 3 months with a maximum of 40 hours of work per week.

A Kinder Spass intern provides a great opportunity for you to gain experience in a particular field, to determine if you have an interest in that particular career as well may also have the possibility of putting yourself forward for forthcoming opportunities for paid work, during internship and/or the flexibility to transition to the Co-op Program upon completion.

Qualifications typically include general office skills, interest to learn, enthusiasm for working with the youth and a strong belief in our mission.

Co-operative Education with Kinder Spass

The Kinder Spass co operative educational program alternates periods of academic study with periods of work experience in one of the appropriate field supported within the jobs spectrum of Kinder Spass ex: legal, financial, instructional, social services and other professions in accordance with the following criteria:

  • Co-op Programs begin and end on an academic term;
  • Candidates are engaged in productive work for which the candidate receives remuneration.
  • The Candidates performance in the workplace is supervised and evaluated by Kinder Spass.
  • Each work term is developed in partnership with Kinder Spass and approved by the co-operative education program as a suitable learning environment.
  • The co-op curriculum supports student learning goals, personal evaluation and reflection.
  • The Candidates progress during their work term is monitored by the co-operative education program.
  • Both work and academic terms are full-time and follow a formalized sequence. The total amount of co-op work experience is normally at least 30% of the time spent in academic study. For programs of two years or less the total amount may be a minimum of 25%. A work term is defined as a minimum of 12 weeks and/or 420 hours full-time paid experience
  • The Candidate completing multiple work terms is normally exposed to the work environment during more than one season of the year.

* The Co-operative Education Definition criteria are intended for program design and reflect the Guiding Principles of Kinder Spass.

* Kinder Spass acknowledges and affirms the rights of candidates with disabilities to have equal access to co-operative education programming. Exceptions to the above will be supported to meet the duty to accommodate and ensure that all candidates have full and equal access of all human rights and fundamental freedoms.

* The first 3 months will consist of the following:

What's Not Included?

  • Miscellaneous expenses (personal grooming supplies, cosmetics)
  • Airfare / Transportation cost

*Important note for the Internship, Co-op Program and Career program

Because our offer is very appealing and attracts many persons not serious and or who want to use our offer for purposes other than those of Kinder Spass, the 1st 3 months of the Co-op Program and Career program is unpaid and considered to be a probationary period.

We expect persons to be work orientated professional, serious dedicated, and earns the privileges offered by Kinder Spass.

Room & board are complimentary throughout the international Internship, Co-op Program and Career program as long as you are enrolled in the program.
